Job Summary

Serves as a resource to other clinical support staff, answering questions and offering clarification on processes or procedures, as needed and able. Trains/assists with training plans for new staff to ensure familiarity with clinical policies/procedures of HFHC. Coordinates the activities of the clinical team members of assigned location(s) to ensure compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree preferred
  • State of Florida MA/CNA/LPN Certification required
  • Two years of medical office, clinic, or hospital experience is preferred
  • Two years of leadership or training experience is preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate and establish collaborative relationships with physicians, patients, clinic and administrative staff, and the public
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights. Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, and other sensitive materials and information
  • Electronic Medical Record experience
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Professional and customer-focused demeanor
  • Ability to work with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities
  • Ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for working with the Center Nurse Managers when making decisions.
  • Spanish fluency is desirable but not essential

Essential Functions

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and respectful manner
  • Complete all assigned tasks in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system (e.g., jellybeans) when in clinical staffing
  • Collaborates with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth workflow and patient care delivery.
  • Communicates performance feedback to the Center Nurse Managers and/or CNO regarding clinical team members
  • Assists Center Nurse Managers with developing clinical team schedules when call-outs arise or when needed, also assists with residency schedule coverages
  • Act as a resource for clinical staff, offering support and clarification on clinical processes or procedures as needed
  • Assist in training and onboarding new clinical staff in accordance with HFHC policies and procedures
  • Support and enhance patient flow, ensuring patients are seen promptly and efficiently
  • Assist providers and clinical staff with tasks such as returning patient calls, processing medication refills, performing venipuncture/finger sticks, and conducting CLIA-waived testing
  • Oversee daily equipment maintenance, including: Assigning staff to complete daily machine controls and ensuring machine logs are current and compliant
  • Assesses equipment that is broken and ensures tickets are placed if needed
  • Verifies code cart log compliance and reports concerns to Center Nurse Managers
  • Serves as backup clinical support in times of staff shortage
  • Participates in team meetings and leads or attends daily team huddles; documents and shares huddle updates with Center Nurse Managers
  • Attends training sessions and meetings relevant to the role
  • Maintains active CPR certification
  • Upholds patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assists clinical leadership with monitoring vaccine orders, tracking inventory and expiration dates, and ensuring compliance with Florida SHOTS based on current usage and stock levels
  • As needed, uploads temperature logs for vaccine refrigerators and freezers to maintain compliance; report any excursions immediately
  • Assists Center Nurse Managers with weekly chart audits and reports findings
  • Ensures fax inbox is consistently monitored and maintained by the clinical team, especially during downtime
  • Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and strong work ethic; set a positive example for the team
  • Coordinates clinical supply inventory across sites by analyzing usage trends, anticipating supply needs, and submitting supply sheets
  • Escalates minor or major patient complaint issues to the Center Nurse Manager and/or CNO
  • Collaborates effective working relationships across departments, including Operations, Human Resources, and IT
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Center Nurse Manager and/or CNO

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting at a desk for office work
  • Occasional driving of automobiles for outside appointments and meetings
  • Continuous use of corrected vision, depth perception, wide field of vision, and color. Also, the job will demand continuous use of olfactory, auditory, and tactile senses
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day
  • Duties require attention to detail, alertness, problem-solving, tolerance to stress, and
  • exercising sound judgment
  • Assists with skills simulation which could involve actively participating as a patient actor and/or physically lifting equipment utilized for instruction
  • This employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 30 pounds
  • Must be able to lift, carry and handle equipment, supplies, and other work site materials according to position requirements
