JOB SUMMARY

The GlobalX After School Care Program Lead primarily oversees the supervision, coordination, and daily operations of the GlobalX After School Care Program for Preschool and Elementary School students. In addition to ensuring a safe and engaging environment for students, the Program Lead supports staff onboarding and training, maintains compliance with Department of Human Services (DHS) requirements, and assists with logistical planning for programs such as XLP, Summer, and Camps.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Program Duration: 12 months, including support to interim camps.
  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (hours may vary depending on the needs of the program)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

After School Care (ASC)

  • Provide close supervision and maintain a safe student environment.
  • Supervise and delegate student dismissal/pick-up duties.
  • Oversees daily schedule assignments for GlobalX Supervisors and Volunteers.
  • Track daily attendance to ensure that all GlobalX Supervisors and Volunteers have accurate student attendance.
  • Coordinate training activities for GlobalX Supervisors and Volunteers to lead out on activities.

Department of Human Services (DHS)

  • Assist in the hiring process of GlobalX Supervisors and Volunteers by tracking signed waivers, completion of reference checks and mandatory training. For GlobalX Supervisors, assist with scheduling Department of Human Services (DHS) fingerprinting appointments.
  • Plan the content of and execute supervisor and volunteer orientation.
  • Plan the content of and execute supervisor ongoing monthly training.
  • Coordinate ASC groups to ensure compliance with DHS enrollment requirements.
  • Record ASC attendance in the database and save daily records per DHS requirements.
  • Complete and process all DHS required documentation in a timely manner. This includes the biannual licensure renewal documentation.

Program Support (XLP, Summer, Camps)

  • In collaboration with the GlobalX Program Managers, coordinate administrative tasks leading up to the program start date. These tasks may include the creation of name tags, class lists, attendance sheets, check-out links and emergency procedures binders.
  • Provide daily support for Preschool and Elementary GlobalX Programs to keep the programs organized. This includes coordination, implementation, and execution of details of the program and logistical supplies.

SCHOOL SAFETY

  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.

  • Report any injury, hazard or illness immediately to their Supervisor and Human Resources.

  • Ensure that equipment/supplies are properly maintained.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of safety laws.
  • Mandatory reporting of sexual abuse to law enforcement or child protective services, and Human Resources. Sexual abuse includes child molestation, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with a minor, and serial sexual misconduct, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with more than one victim; and committed by or alleged to have been committed by any perpetrator who is not a student of an included entity.

QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or after-school program setting.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, 12-month position that includes responsibilities during the summer and scheduled school breaks. This position requires 40-hour workweeks, Monday through Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. However, hours may vary depending on departmental needs, deadlines, or school events. Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Our campus consists of multiple buildings on 44 hilly acres that requires frequent walking including uphill and stairs. The individual is required to talk and hear, often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee may be required to stand, walk, lift and carry approximately 10-15 pounds, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires close vision.

MENTAL DEMANDS

On a daily basis, must frequently problem solve, make decisions, interpret data, organize, speak, write, plan, and clearly communicate.

EQUIPMENT USE

Telephone, computer, iPad, Google Apps for Education, Blackbaud Education Edge Database – frequently. Copier, printers and other hardware – occasionally.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoor – frequently. Outdoor, Loud Noise, Cold and Hot Temperatures – occasionally.
