PURPOSE/SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

To support program and client needs in Preferred Communities Intensive Case Management Services, Gap Services, Ukrainian Initial Services and Cuban and Haitian Initial Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & COMPETENCIES

  • Provide support to caseworkers within the preferred communities department with tasks related to meeting client goals established through the programs.
  • Attend community appointments with clients, such as social security administration, and/or medical appointments.
  • Assist with program enrollments which may include creating goals with clients.
  • Maintains client-related documentation standards by preparing and completing in a timely manner all required records and reports for all assigned clients.
  • Attend weekly and monthly meetings with community partners, Greater Toledo Newcomer Center staff and administration.
  • Works closely with clients, staff, and community partners on barrier removal one-on-one and/or in group settings.

Minimum of high school diploma, or some college, ability to communicate verbally and written in English, to follow directions, and to be organized and meet deadlines.

REQUIRED LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to express oneself in an articulate and effective manner both verbally and in written communication.

Comfort communicating with individuals for whom English is their second language. Multilingual ability preferred.

REQUIRED REASONING ABILITY

Ability to deal with abstract as well as concrete concepts, problematic people and situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
