Inventory Specialist

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring all receiving, delivery/transport, counting, and inventory management systems or processes that are compliant and follow the New York State OCM regulations.
• Responsible for the implementation of the company's policies and operating procedures on inventory controls.
• Play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our organizations inventory levels, ensuring the seamless flow of goods from suppliers to customers.
• Demands exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of inventory management processes.
• Oversee the safe and accurate dispensing of cannabis and cannabis devices to customers.
• Manage inventory counts, audits, reconciliations, and record-keeping to maintain precise inventory levels and ensure all information is accurately reported to the system and no malfunctions are occurring.
• Monitor product movement and tracking systems to optimize stock levels and procurement strategies. Train, coach, and supervise inventory staff to ensure operational excellence.
• Ensure all products are properly tagged according to state and local regulations.
• Coordinate weekly & monthly audits for inventory reconciliation.
• Receive and process customer orders through the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including inventory storage areas and fulfillment stations.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely order fulfillment and assist with additional tasks as needed.
• All other duties as assigned by store leadership

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent
• 1+ year of customer service experience; preference for candidates with customer-facing retail experience
• Consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills
• Desire to continuously learn more about cannabis and the industry – previous knowledge a HUGE plus
• Ability to listen well, effectively communicate, and work well within a team environment
• Open to constructive, developmental feedback
• Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures
• Previous experience with POS systems
• Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications and email

Minimum Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older
• Possess valid driver’s license or state ID
• Must be flexible regarding work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
