Our Instructional Technology Resource Teacher will support the integration of instructional technology into Minnick Schools classrooms by coaching teachers, modeling lessons, and providing non-evaluative feedback.
This position will coach teachers to improve technology adoption in all classrooms by delivering professional development, creating training materials, and supporting curriculum development with a focus on technology. This position requires travel between Lynchburg and Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Minimum Education, Training, Requirements And Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (required)
- Master’s degree in education or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years working with Special Education and Assistive Technology preferred.
- Current and renewable Virginia teaching license with a Special Education endorsement preferred.
- Advanced computer skills and experience with Google and Microsoft products.
- Ability to organize work effectively.
- Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and complete all required paperwork according to agency requirements on a timely basis.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and staff information and records in adherence with applicable agency/school policy and applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to drive agency vehicle or personal vehicle as needed.
- Valid Virginia Drivers’ License and proof of insurance.
- Satisfactory Driving Record in accordance with Driver Requirements policy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
essential functions - May be required to perform any of the following duties :
- Supports and advocates for instructional technology in the special education classroom following best practices and research-based pedagogy.
- Collaborate with school administrators to identify opportunities for growth in the use of technology among individuals and groups of instructional staff;
- Coach teachers at assigned schools in the integration of technology into their instructional practice by providing training, assistance in lesson planning, co-teaching, teaching model lessons, and providing non-evaluative feedback on instruction.
- Conducts instructional technology-related professional development and training for school staff in collaboration with the Supervisor of Educational Technology.
- Assists with the planning of system-wide professional development.
- Creates training materials, guides, videos, and model lesson plans to assist Minnick Schools staff in the use of classroom technology.
- Assists with curriculum development as it relates to instructional technology.
- Documents work and reports on the effectiveness of current instructional technology tools at the assigned schools.
- Disseminates information regarding instructional technology resources, emerging technologies, best practices using technology in the special education classroom and professional development opportunities based on the needs of Minnick Schools staff.
- Helps with the implementation of Assistive Technology listed in students IEP. Works with students and staff to identify additional support through the principals of universal design and makes recommendations to the teacher and administrator.
- Supports and models innovation as a core responsibility supporting initiatives to pilot and evaluate new technologies
- Assist in the evaluation and assessment of technology-based instructional programs.
- Manages and supports district educational software and programs at the school level with direction of the Supervisor of Educational Technology.
- Assist in the development of system-wide technology plans and policies.
- Serve as a mandated reporter of suspected or reported child or adult abuse and neglect. Adherence to all related school, division, agency, and state policy, procedure, protocol, or legal requirement.
- Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, or immediate safety threats directly to school administration as soon as possible.
- Report non-safety concerns related to the preservation of student rights and dignity to supervisor as soon as possible.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm-200 Days
