Description

Provides individual, family, marriage and crisis intervention for children, adults, and families in need. Responsible for providing professional counseling services to a diverse population of clients including individual and family therapy to children and adults for a variety of mental health needs.

Major Responsibilities

  • Completes comprehensive assessment and formulates a diagnostic impression through conducting client and family interviews for the development of a treatment plan.
  • Prepares an individualized treatment plan to include goals, interventions, and criteria for achievement.
  • Evaluates client response to treatment and modifies treatment plan as needed.
  • Conducts individual and family counseling sessions with clients.
  • Documents counseling services in medical record that is audited by a supervisor on a regular basis to include clinical service notes, progress summaries, treatment plans, assessments, and other needed documentation to meet insurance requirements.
  • Maintains regular communication verbally or in written form with client family members and other medical professionals on an as needed basis.
  • Provides counseling services consistent with the established ethical standards of an LPC, LMFT, or LISW-CP in South Carolina.
  • Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.

Requirements

  • Hold an active Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Social Worker – Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) license in South Carolina.
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to multi-task, including skills in organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with other providers and other staff.
