Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for directing daily operations, budgetary controls, training, policy/regulation enforcement, overseeing janitorial operations as well as the overall administration for the SIR Control Center, SIR Transportation Operations, which includes the Construction Flagging and Work Trains.
- This position will direct the review and development of operating rules/procedures as mandated by oversight agencies.
- Develop and maintain emergency management plans.
- Develop signage variations based on various service plans developed to support project work.
- Serves as SIR liaison and Emergency Response Officer during emergency situations.
- Establishes and implements business rules for new system integrations to the Rail Control Center and Transportation Operations.
- Oversees and report on all major incidents involving Transportation Operations.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field and ten (10) years of satisfactory full time professional experience, seven (7) years of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
- A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Management preferred
- Strong knowledge of SIR operating rules, policies, procedures, physical characteristics and organizational structure.
- Experience working in a Rail Control Center in a communication, dispatching or support function.
- Experience collaboratively working with a unionized workforce and superior conflict resolution skills.
- Extensive experience establishing standards/protocols and training.
- Exhibit strong leadership and team building characteristics.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
