Position Summary
Under the direction of the Data Analytics Manager, the Business Analyst supports the reporting and analytical needs of Lakeland Care, Inc. (LCI) across the areas of finance, operations, and systems functions. Performs research, prepares reports and analyses, identifies problems, and proposes solutions that focus on meeting end user analytical needs, as well as organizational objectives and strategies with accuracy and timeliness. Contributes to the optimization of practices and supports LCI’s understanding of key business, revenue, and cost drivers. Support the analysis of reporting, systems, and workflows for optimal performance across the agency. Serve as advisor to various levels of leadership and collaborate with staff in the support of effective decision making.

Daily work is performed independently under the general direction and supervision of the Data Analytics Manager. The Data Reporting Analyst blends financial, operational, and systems expertise to run reports, perform research, form analyses, identify problems, propose solutions, and implement improvement efforts that support optimal decision making. This position has significant interaction with LCI staff, including management, supervisors, and professionals, as well as some interaction with outside agencies, providers, state agencies and departments, and audit firms.

Responsibilities & Competencies
- Design reports, dashboards, and Business Intelligence tools, that provide insight into key data points.
- Maintain and update current reports, dashboards, and tools.
- Responsible for data quality measures.
- Conduct insightful, root cause analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational projects or issues.
- Conduct research and analysis to evaluate business and industry performance; identify areas of strengths, problems, opportunities and propose actionable solutions and outcomes.
- Advise on system improvements, workflows, and reporting by eliciting requirements from end-users, studying current practices, designing modifications and streamlining opportunities.
- Equips and educates stakeholders with data and analysis to make informed decisions.
- Respect other opinions and concerns and value diversity in thought and action.
- Serves as advisor and business partner with various levels of staff for the purpose of creating value for stakeholders.
- Serve as liaison across all areas of the organization; understand and help communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes.
- Provide back up to Data Analytics Manager and team.
- Comply with applicable federal and state laws, administrative rules, established organizational procedures and accepted professional standards.
- Maintain the confidentiality of client information and protected health information as required by State and Federal regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) Act of 1996.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, business, finance or related field, or equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience or training related to process optimization, cross-functional analytical consulting, data reporting and analysis that influences decision making.
- Highly developed Microsoft Suite skills as well as Business Intelligence software required.
- Knowledge of or experience with XML, SQL, VBA, preferred.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical and financial analysis required.
- Ability to summarize complex and technical information and develop conclusions for lay and expert audiences preferred.
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and problem solving and identification skills.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision along with the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment required.
- Demonstrated aptitude to quickly gain an understanding in new issue areas and associated data.
- Experience in a managed care, health care, human services, insurance, and/or non-profit agency setting preferred. Knowledge of the Family Care program is beneficial.
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.
