Position Summary:
The Building Maintenance and Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and safety of the manufacturing facility and its infrastructure. This role ensures that all building systems are functioning efficiently and safely, and that the facility complies with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. The Coordinator works closely with management and production teams to maintain a safe working environment and to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

This role ensures that all building systems are functioning efficiently and safely, and that the facility complies with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. The Coordinator works closely with management and production teams to maintain a safe working environment and to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Building Maintenance:
- Coordinate and perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical, roofing, etc.).
- Schedule and supervise third-party contractors and maintenance personnel for specialized work.
- Maintain and manage a maintenance schedule and accurate records of service activities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility-related emergencies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with OSHA and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments throughout the facility.
- Lead and document incident investigations and recommend corrective/preventative actions.
- Provide safety training and onboarding for employees, including proper equipment use and emergency procedures.
- Serve as the point of contact for all facility-related safety concerns and compliance issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local building codes, fire codes, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, safety trainings, maintenance logs, and MSDS/SDS documentation.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal audits and external regulatory inspections.
- Collaborate with departments to support equipment installation or relocations.
- Assist in planning capital improvement projects related to facilities and infrastructure.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in building/facility maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, building systems, and maintenance best practices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient with MS Office and maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS).
- Forklift certification, HVAC license, or other relevant credentials a plus.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing and industrial facility setting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Exposure to loud noises, chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures may occur.
- On-call availability for emergencies may be required.
