The Turbine Airfoils Design Engineer in this position will be responsible for executing product cost-out and producibility improvements on turbine airfoils and other hot section components, in support of our defense engine programs. This role will encompass all facets of product design-for-producibility - idea generation, feasibility analysis, technical program execution, and project management/implementation.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support business producibility goals via execution of engineering projects in design, manufacturing, analysis, and productivity
  • Execute and provide guidance for the analysis/evaluation of cost projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and program requirements
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriate
  • Define and develop product processes related to design, analysis, test, materials, manufacture, quality and/or productivity
  • Own and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish design-for-cost projects and related activities
  • Autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Advanced degree in engineering from an accredited university or college OR 2 years experience in relevant engineering positions
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Experience in manufacturing and design of turbomachinery hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering technology and tools (ANSYS, 3D modeling, engineering drawing review and interpretation).
  • The ability to exert influence with collaborators outside of your direct reporting structure.
  • Demonstrated skills in collaborating across organizations and influence others outside of your direct reporting structure.
  • The ability to document, plan, and execute technical problems with medium to high complexity.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
