Job Description –

JOB SUMMARY:

A nonexempt position responsible for coordinating, verifying, distributing, and managing all billable services.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with clinical staff to get charge information for all patients.
  • Codes information about procedures performed and diagnosis on charge.
  • Verifies and completes charge information in database and produces billing.
  • Processes and distributes copies of billings according to clinic policies.
  • Ensures all charge codes and doctor codes are correct.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year billing experience in a health care organization.
  • Knowledge of billing practices and clinic policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies.
  • Proficient skills in computer programs.
  • Skill in using a calculator.
  • Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret medical charts.
  • Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
