The Data Engineer is a key technical role responsible for the architecture, development, and maintenance of high-performance data pipelines on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This individual will leverage a deep understanding of GCP technologies – including BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Cloud Functions – to design and implement efficient ETL/ELT processes. The role emphasizes the optimization of data flow, ensuring data quality and integrity through automated checks and monitoring, and building robust data warehousing solutions. The Data Engineer will also be proficient in writing complex SQL and utilizing scripting languages like Python to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources, ultimately enabling data-driven insights for cross-functional teams.

- Pay Range: $29.84 - $39.26 - $49.07***
- Retention Bonus: $1500***
- Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable ETL pipelines using GCP technologies, including BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Cloud Functions.
- Write complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and transform data from SQL Server and MySQL source databases.
- Develop and maintain data quality checks and monitoring processes, identifying and resolving data quality issues.
- Implement complex data projects with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large sets of data to turn information into insights using multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, particularly in the tolling and finance domains, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Optimize ETL processes to improve performance and efficiency.
- Build and maintain Looker dashboards to visualize and analyze data, leveraging dimensional modeling techniques.
- Generates specific and operational reports in support of objectives and initiatives.
- Presents and communicates complex analytical data and results to appropriate audiences.
- Maintains expertise in the latest GCP technologies and industry best practices.
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience working with databases, SQL, and data warehousing technologies.
- Experience in Google Cloud Platform technologies.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python and experience with data warehousing concepts.
- Solid understanding of GCP technologies, including BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Scheduler.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and SQL, with a focus on leveraging GCP technologies to extract, transform, and load large datasets efficiently.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
- Experience in the tolling industry and understanding of tolling and finance data is a plus.
- Ability to build dashboards using visualization tools like MicroStrategy, Google Looker Studio, Tableau and PowerBI
- Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing best practices, particularly dimensional modeling.
- Certifications in Google Cloud Platform.
