Are you looking to drive product strategy and be a key leader for a growing organization? Winnebago Motorhome is seeking a Director of Product Portfolio based at either our Eden Prairie, MN location with travel to Forest City, IA or directly based in our Forest City, IA location. This role is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the vision, planning, and execution of the motorhome product lineup. Reporting to the Vice President of Product, this role owns the full lifecycle of the product portfolio—from concept through launch to sunset—and is accountable for ensuring the lineup delivers on brand promise, customer needs, and business performance targets.

This leader will align cross-functional teams across Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Customer Experience to bring innovative, high-quality, and market-relevant motorhomes to life. The Director will play a key role in shaping the future of Winnebago Motorhomes through data-driven portfolio decisions, proactive lifecycle management, and deep engagement with dealer and customer feedback.

Day To Day Of The Role

Strategic Portfolio Management

  • Lead the overall product portfolio strategy and roadmap, including long-term planning and innovation pipeline.
  • Drive portfolio rationalization and lifecycle management to optimize profitability, competitiveness, and resource allocation.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Product and senior leadership to align product strategy with enterprise and brand goals.

Product Lifecycle Ownership

  • Oversee all stages of product development—from concept through launch and post-launch performance.
  • Make build vs. retire decisions based on market performance, financials, and customer feedback.
  • Define product requirements and success metrics, collaborating with engineering and operations to deliver high-quality execution.

Market & Consumer Insights

  • Leverage consumer, dealer, and market insights to inform product design, feature sets, and roadmap priorities.
  • Identify and validate whitespace opportunities for new product offerings or business models.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and facilitate collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Experience to ensure product-market fit, manufacturability, and go-to-market success.
  • Coordinate go-to-market strategy and new product introductions (NPI) in close partnership with marketing and sales enablement teams.
  • Contribute to pricing strategy, dealer programs, and product positioning to drive sales and brand differentiation.

Financial Performance & Governance

  • Own financial targets for portfolio, including margin, revenue, and mix performance.
  • Monitor product line health through KPIs and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Present business cases and investment proposals to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with product and enterprise priorities.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Product Design, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, portfolio strategy, or category leadership, preferably within automotive, powersports, or recreational vehicle industries.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex product portfolios and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to translate customer insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen with experience in P&L accountability.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and executive presentation skills.

Preferred

  • Deep knowledge of the RV industry, outdoor lifestyle trends, and Class A/B/C Motorhome markets.
  • Experience with dealer-based distribution models and consumer research practices.
  • Familiarity with product development methodologies and manufacturing processes.

This posting includes a range of the salary across a geographical market. The base pay for this position ranges from $190,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
