Pediatric Nurse Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide nursing care to pediatric patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing routine treatments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement patient care plans
- Assess and respond to the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of patients and their families
- Document patient care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease prevention, and provide guidance and support to families as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, and follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of disease
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Experience in pediatric nursing or a pediatric healthcare setting.
- Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
- Familiarity with pediatric-specific medical equipment.
- Knowledge of child development and pediatric illnesses.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Valid nursing license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse
- Strong commitment to patient safety, with the ability to identify and address potential hazards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care
