A leading firm based in South Shore, MA specializing in federal projects up to $20M is seeking an assistant or entry level estimator willing to learn to join their team.

My client is a leading General Contractor based in Norwell, MA. They specialize in projects from $5M - $20M throughout Massachusetts. Due to performing Federal and Government work, this is a recession proof business model. They have been in business since 1929 and do $50M annually. It is a super exciting time to join their business and they are urgently hiring for an Assistant Estimator!!


Description

The Assistant Estimator will be responsible for:

  • Quantity Takeoffs: Measure and qualify materials, labor, and equipment needed from architectural and engineering drawings
  • Bid Preparation: Assist in bid packages and proposals for submission
  • Subcontractor and Supplier Coordination: Send out bid invitations, follow up on quotes, and compare subcontractor bids
  • Document Management: Maintain and organize project documents including drawings, specifications, and addenda.
  • Cost Analysis: Help analyze historical cost data to support accurate estimates
  • Collaboration & Team work

Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 0 - 2+ years of experience in the construction industry
  • Flexible on project type
  • Candidate will report into Senior Estimator
  • Experience with or open to learning FastPipe Estimating
  • Commutable to Norwell, MA
  • Prefer Bachelors Degree in construction management or related field
  • Strong communication and organization skills
