This role sits remotely but this person will be required to work onsite events.


The Manager, Community Partnerships & Engagement position reports directly to the Executive Director, Strategic Community Development & Engagement. Key responsibilities of the role include: Managing execution of strategic plan for systemwide community outreach and engagement; managing partnership pathways for organizations that align to Wellstar's mission, vision and values as well as priority health and business needs; engaging hospitals, health parks, service lines, leadership and team members in the community. Community partners may include mission-aligned and other non-profit organizations, business and civic groups, and academic partners. Manage day-to-day community partnership relationships and MOU's; partnership and sponsorship activation; development and implementation of internal and external programs and initiatives supporting strategic plan; execution of speakers bureau and team member engagement strategies and initiatives through corporate volunteerism as appropriate to role. Supervise daily functions of team and provide leadership.
Impact of this role in the organization is to position Wellstar as a leader in stakeholder engagement performance while driving community, employee, and patient and consumer impact..

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Department Strategic Planning a.Work with leadership to develop and implement strategic plan for department and set annual department goals to align with enterprise goals and strategic plan. b.Collaborate with internal departments and system leadership to meet enterprise, hospital, service line and division/department goals. c. Identify community partners that align with furthering WellStar Health Systems mission, vision, goals, and strategic plan. Community Partnership Management a.Coordinate oversight of partner relationships across domains. b.Process contracts/agreements with partners and develop memorandums of understanding as appropriate. c.Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to ensure key successes with Wellstars community engagement efforts. d.Continually analyze partnership elements to ensure opportunities remain relevant to advancing strategic goals. Community Engagement a.Manage overall plan for community outreach and engagement, including raising awareness about Wellstar, our hospitals, health parks, and services. b.Continually develop and manage programmatic content for identified key stakeholder groups (i.e. seniors, women, team members, leadership, students, etc.). c.Represent Strategic Community Development and Wellstar at events that support our brand goals and strategies. d. Serve on internal and external committees to represent Strategic Community Development and/or WellStar Health System as appropriate. Leadership and Strategic/Critical Thinking a.Function as a self-starter and act independently to manage day-to-day tasks and responsibilities. b.Prioritize tasks effectively and problem solve in an effective, timely and thorough manner. c.Create and adjust tactics to continually align with strategic plan. d.Develop and present new and creative ideas to challenge current state and quality outcomes. e.Stay up to date on current industry trends and factors impacting industry competition and outcomes. f.Adapt to changing evolution of the healthcare industry and look to future for growth and opportunity. g.Supervise daily functions of the team. h.Ongoing performance management for any direct reports. i. Lead by example, provide mentorship to team members, promote mutual respect and a team atmosphere. Managing for Results Measurement and Metrics a.Tracks process for programs and events monitoring for results and exceeding expectations. b.Leads, motivates, and supports team members. c.Manages budget to align with goals and strategic plan. d.Compile and track community benefit and outcome metrics/data for reporting impact of department partnerships, programs, and services to key stakeholders. e. Contribute to setting team goals and development of strategies to deliver positive outcomes for performance management and team member engagement.

Required Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communications, development, non-profit management, healthcare, or related field Required
Master's Degree in business, marketing, communications, development, non-profit management, healthcare, or related field Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 8 years years of experience in related field and in leadership Required
History of building and maintaining strong community and internal relationships Required
Previous experience and success working in cross-functional work environments and demonstrated success in achieving collaborative goals Required
Minimum 5 years experience working in healthcare or non-profit sector Preferred

Required Minimum Skills:

Be a flexible self-starter. Project and task management skills: high level of organization and attention to detail, ability to multi-task, plan and problem-solve, prioritize, delegate and create systems and processes.
Ability to work independently and perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, juggle multiple priorities, and react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
Excellent communication skills: ability to communicate effectively and articulately in writing and orally.
Strong critical thinking and analysis.
Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally with diverse audiences including executives and leadership; strong relationship skills are necessary, including the ability to maximize collaboration and cross-functional teamwork.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and email management.
