The Vice President, Global IT Operations works closely with other members of the RGA Global Technology leadership team to ensure RGA global IT operations adheres to and follows ITSM best practices. Leads and manages a world-class team delivering scalable, reliable, and secure services in ITSM, ServiceNow, and CMDB platforms while focusing on maturing the global services catalog. Leads the RGA’s global IT organization to serve as the face of IT for RGA’s service management practices. Provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and delivery of ITSM practices for RGA.

PRINICPAL DUTIES

  • Provides oversight and leadership for RGA’s global IT organizations.
  • Establishes SLAs for the global catalog. Matures and establishes strategy and drives best practices. Ensures global technology adheres to and follows ITIL best practices to improve IT service management. Assembles and provided oversight for the global IT operations Change Advisory Board.
  • Leads, manages, and directs the activities of the department in all aspects of supervisory duties, including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining direct reports. Fosters a positive and engaged work environment. Mentors functional management, first line managers, and associates.
  • Responsible for establishing IT Service Management KPIs, metrics and reporting to ensure operational resiliency of RGA systems. Establishes performance baselines and drives continuous improvements leveraging ITIL best practices.
  • Sets strategic direction with other members of RGA Global Technology leadership as well as business leadership to ensure a coordinated and cost-effective approach for technology delivery. Ensures alignment across the RGA Global Technology groups to drive consistency in priority, planning, and implementation of organizational practices and standards.
  • Provides oversight and governance functions for multiple large as well as special projects and/or technology initiatives and apply innovative solutions that meet budget expectations.
  • Leads due diligence activities on behalf of all of RGA Global Technology group as well as integration and implementation efforts supporting RGA mergers and acquisitions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field in Computer Science, Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 10+ years leading ITSM Organizations.
  • Previous experience running high performing ITSM frameworks, managing SaaS environments and scalable technologies to support a growing and hybrid workforce.
  • Demonstrated experience attracting, leading, and developing staff in a geographically dispersed environment.

Required

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • ITIL v3 certification required, ITIL v4 certification preferred
  • Highly experienced and skilled with ServiceNow and PagerDuty
  • Highly experienced and skilled in the 24x7 follow the sun model
  • Agile methodology experience
  • Skilled in establishing strategy and driving ITSM best practices within a large organization required.
  • Highly advanced ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through strategic planning and the implementation and evaluation of programs and policies.
  • Highly advanced ability to implement organizational, divisional and/or departmental vision and goals that result in achievement and success through exceptional leadership skills, collaboration, creative thinking, maintaining focus, and persistence, even under adversity, while maintaining the confidence of associates and customers.
  • Proven history introducing and executing Enterprise-wide organizational systems, processes and frameworks.
  • Ability to set clear expectations & goals and hold people accountable to them.
  • Exceptional people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility.
  • Highly advanced people management skills, demonstrating an ability to lead, mentor and develop staff. Ability to manage staff members who are difficult or resistant to leadership.
  • Highly advanced project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan.
  • Experience with technical product ownership management approach, agile software development practices, and advanced knowledge of Agile organizational structures and delivery methodologies.
  • Executive presence and presentation skills. Highly advanced oral and written communication skills including presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey information in a way that is meaningful and well received by stakeholders and team members across global markets.
  • Continuous learning focused on new technology and processes that will improve customer service, reduce costs and/or provide a competitive advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven experience articulating technical concepts to all audiences, including C-level executives and customers.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; proven ability to work effectively with technical contributors, management and executive leadership.

Compensation Range

$175,650.00 - $261,600.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
