JOB PURPOSE: Under the general direction of Director of Environmental Services or Housing Administrator, responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance procedures on buildings, grounds and equipment in order to provide a safe, aesthetic environment for residents and employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responds to and performs maintenance service requests as assigned by the supervisor and carries out repairs and installation of equipment, moving and assembly of furniture, setting up equipment for meetings, etc.
  • Unit remodeling activities which includes light construction and carpentry work to install cabinetry, countertops, plumbing, carpeting, painting and related work.
  • Maintains facilities general appearance by performing plaster patchwork, painting, clearing corridors, changing light fixtures, etc.
  • Performs light electrical work including installation of electrical conduit, wiring, switches, and other such equipment up to 110 volts.
  • Inspects and performs light repairs on equipment including boiler system, heating/ventilation systems and plumbing to ensure all systems are in proper working condition and properly maintained.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & LICENSURE:

  • High school diploma or GED and 5+year of previous experience in a maintenance position or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification in plumbing, electronics, HVAC, or similar discipline preferred.
