Job Summary
The City of Fort Collins City Attorney's Office is hiring for a Legal
Assistant position who will engage in work related to the administrative
processing and preparation of case materials related to traffic enforcement
cases and prosecution of other municipal violations, including Camera
Redlight/Radar tickets and other administrative assistance to the City
Attorney's office.
Preferred qualifications are 3 - 5 years of legal or professional office
experience; additional relevant education and/or a notary public license
are helpful but not required. This position requires a successful background
check and CJIS clearance as part of the conditional offer. If supporting
administrative workflow, records and resources, finance and accounting,
and technology as well as service expectations and communication for both

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary
functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
Works in a team office environment within the office of the City Attorney.
Performs administrative support functions such as schedules meetings,
greeting clients /s citizens and respond to telephone inquiries.
Compose and edit documents and emails for review.
Provide primary support for municipal court prosecution team.
Edit various documents received from the City Attorney and legal staff.
May coordinate, prepare, and monitor documents for the council
agenda process on an as-needed basis.
May maintain legal library, and review, summarize, and code legal
memoranda for file.
Reads and routes incoming mail.
May act as department liaison for computer technical needs, and
department communications.
Coordinate and maintain various databases and spreadsheets to track work
in progress.
Scan and code documents for electronic filing and retrieval.
Work closing with the various departments to coordinate and manage
municipal court matters.

Basic math skills and bookkeeping skills helpful..
Working knowledge of legal terminology and litigation procedures preferred.
Bookkeeping knowledge helpful.
Proficiency with Word, Outlook and Excel.
Required Qualifications
Minimum
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred
Hig school diploma or general education degree
Experience Requirements
3-5 years related legal or professional office experience preferred,
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
