Position Summary

The Mortgage Closing/Post-Closing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the mortgage loan closing and post-closing process to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant loan file delivery. This role involves managing a team of closers and post-closing specialists, coordinating with internal departments and external partners, and ensuring adherence to investor, regulatory, and company guidelines. The manager ensures that all loan documents are property prepared, signed, reviewed, and submitted in accordance with established timelines and quality standards.

Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the mortgage closing and post-closing departments, including training, performance monitoring, pipeline monitoring to meet deadlines and implementing process improvements.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of disclosures and loan documentation for compliance with TRID, RESPA, TILA, and investor guidelines.
  • Coordinate communication between internal departments, title companies, loan officers, members to facilitate seamless closings.
  • Ensure timely funding and shipping of loan packages to investors.
  • Manage post-closing audits, resolve documentation deficiencies, and ensure accurate stacking and delivery of loan files.
  • Implement and maintain quality control standards to reduce closing, post-closing errors and conditions.
  • Collaborate with compliance and secondary market teams to ensure alignment with investor and credit union policies.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls, and should request legal interpretation as necessary. Must ensure subordinates are also compliant with such laws and regulations.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or similar related experience
  • Minimum 5 years of closing, post-closing experience and Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience mortgage closing, post-closing team.
  • This position requires an understanding of basic computer skills including m365 suites.

Skills And Abilities

  • Demonstrates the ability to develop employees into leaders within the organization.
  • Proven leadership experience in mortgage closing and post-closing operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage loan processing, disclosures, funding and secondary market delivery.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance (TRID, RESPA, TILA, HMDA, FNMA/FHA/MSHDA/Guarantee Rural guidelines)
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with LOS – Encompass, document imaging and compliance tools.
  • Thinks strategically and influence others within the organization to execute on strategy.
  • Proficient in developing and presenting presentations and procedures.
  • The ability to drive results within the organization.
  • Thorough understanding of Credit Union and Banking Regulations
  • Presents a positive and professional image to members through effective and courteous verbal and written communications.
