The Pharmacy Technician supports and collaborates with the healthcare team, primarily the pharmacy team, to ensure patients receive high-quality care related to dispensing medications at Mountain Park Health Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Processes prescriptions and enters patient information into Mountain Park Health Center’s computer software systems.
  • Answers patient questions, troubleshoots, and resolves patient concerns and complaints. Refers patients with questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to a pharmacist.
  • Assists the pharmacist in dispensing, filling prescriptions, inventory control, stocking shelves, clerical work, and data entry.
  • Communicates patient care related information with members of the pharmacy staff, external contacts, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Fills and documents medications in the automated dispensing machine.
  • Ensures efficient workflow of pharmacy operations.
  • Supports compliance with the 340B drug pricing policy and abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the State Board of Pharmacy and Mountain Park Health Center’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensures and supports the cost-effective use of materials, supplies, and equipment by limiting waste of all pharmaceutical or organizational supplies and resources.
  • Handles all methods of payments using the cash register and follows cash handling procedures.
  • Prepares cash register deposits.
  • Travels to multiple locations during shift.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in Arizona.
  • Must be bilingual and able to interpret for Spanish-speaking patients.
