As Seed Manager, you'll be the subject matter expert shaping sales, marketing, and vendor relationships across the WBU ensuring consistency and excellence, all while working closely with the Business Unit Vice President, Division Managers and top-tier suppliers.

Preference is for the Seed Manager (WBU) to live in the Fresno, CA area.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Works with Division Managers and the Business Unit Vice President to establish goals and direction for BU seed business based on corporate goals and objectives.
- Develops long-term plans and forecasts for seed business.
- Develops seed sales and profit objectives by division and location.
- Provides strategic guidance and oversight to Seed Specialists to ensure alignment with performance objectives, while working in partnership with Division Managers who hold direct supervisory responsibility.
- Establishes future plot strategies.
- Provides direction to Purchasing Managers to ensure seed goals and programs are followed and inventory goals are accomplished.
- Provides program information and summaries to division leaders.
- Increases branch awareness of current seed market share and market share goals.
- Identifies needs and develops and organizes training for the BU consistent with growth goals.
- Works with suppliers to determine correct agronomic solutions for the supplier's hybrids and varieties.
- Communicates corporate and regional seed vendor programs and explains how those programs impact business unit profitability.
- May be required to operate a company vehicle.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
- Five years of agriculture work experience, preferably in seed, is required.
- Previous leadership experience is preferred.
- Experience managing grower and seed programs, purchasing programs and other marketing programs is preferred.
- Experience building strong relationships with suppliers is preferred.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of agronomic seed systems and how they apply to other categories (i.e. agchem, fertilizer, seed, Helena proprietary products, etc.) is required.
- Understanding of trait packages and seed germplasm is preferred.
- Presentation skills and the ability to sell ideas and concepts.
- Proven leadership and motivational qualities.
- Ability to self-direct, prioritize, set goals, evaluate and review progress and create objectives and timelines.
- Ability to learn and use new technologies.
- Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
- Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
- Valid US driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle.
- Travel by various means up to 65% of the time is required.

The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
