Who We're Looking For
Quality Technician - Reports to the Industrial Engineering Manager
Working on-site 5 days per week
The Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the required quality standards. This role involves inspecting products, identifying defects, and working closely with the production team to implement corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining quality.
Fundamental Responsibilities
- Defect Rate: Measure the percentage of products that fail to meet quality standards, aiming for a low defect rate.
- Corrective Action Implementation: Track the number and effectiveness of corrective actions taken to address quality issues, including the time taken to implement these actions.
- Customer Returns: Record the number of customer returns related to product quality, with a goal of minimizing returns.
- Facilitate the non-conformance process. Working cross-functionally with other departments to ensure completeness of information and documentation of root cause and corrective actions.
- Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to address and resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and other quality-related activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned by management as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Able to follow instructions and operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle stress and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and delegation skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within diverse teams, actively contributing ideas, supporting co-workers, and achieving common objectives.
- Proficiency and experience in Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Business, Quality, or related field
- Experience using Quality Management Systems
- Lean Practitioner Certified or equivalent.
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central ERP
- Training with ISO systems or related quality standards
- Experience with implementing and training for Quality Management System
