Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with 3–7 years of hands-on experience in research and development (R&D), product testing, mechanical design, and assembly processes to join our client’s engineering team in Spring, TX. This is a contract role with the opportunity to work on cutting-edge product development initiatives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, and prototyping of mechanical products and systems from concept through production.
- Conduct and document product testing and validation, including stress, thermal, and durability testing.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality engineering, to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
- Support the assembly and troubleshooting of prototypes and production units.
- Analyze data and test results to recommend design modifications or improvements.
- Assist in creating detailed documentation including test reports, CAD models, BOMs, and engineering change notices (ECNs).
- Contribute to continuous improvement of R&D and test processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, R&D, testing, and assembly.
- Proficient in 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or similar.
- Experience with test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a contract-based environment.
- Experience in electromechanical systems or consumer/industrial product development.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and reliability testing methods.
