About Carry:
At Carry, we help clients build wealth through smart tax optimization. We started with the Solo 401k for self-employed business owners, and are rapidly adding new products and services on top of that.
About the role:
The Carry platform spans investing, education and tax advice. Our product helps clients "end to end" through the cycle of tax strategy, implementation and services, and tax filing, and we have a complex and rapidly evolving platform.
We've had strong growth to date and recently surpassed $2MM in ARR and $100MM in assets on platform, and we've done this so far with a small, high velocity product and engineering team.
For this role we are looking for a "player-coach" who can help us level up further, leading our current engineering team (6 people + growing fast) while also being hands on with product.
This is an in-person role 5 days a week in our Williamsburg, Brooklyn office, with the rest of the engineering team today (though we're planning to grow a remote engineering team over time).

- Past startup experience managing and leading teams
- Strong interest in fintech and high growth startups
- Interested in both people and technical leadership as we scale
- Languages: Typescript, Python
- Frontend: NextJS, React, Chakra UI
- Backend: NestJS, Django, Postgres, Memcached
- AWS Services: EKS, SQS, SNS, Lambda
