Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled Structural Welder/Fitter specializing in MIG welding to join our clients team in Victoria, TX. The Structural Welder will be responsible for welding structural steel components used in various construction projects, ensuring high-quality and precise welds. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Welding: Perform MIG welding on structural steel components, including beams, columns, and frames, following blueprints and specifications.
• Fabrication: Assist in the cutting, fitting, and assembly of steel parts before welding, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
• Quality Control: Inspect welds for defects and ensure compliance with company standards and project specifications. Perform necessary rework or repairs.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine the welding requirements.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in good working order. Report any equipment issues to supervisors.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other welders, fabricators, and project managers to ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience as a MIG welder, particularly in structural welding. Familiarity with welding in various positions and environments.
• Skills: Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, including setting up and operating welding equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Certifications: Welding certifications are preferred, particularly in MIG welding, but not required.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding is highly desirable.
  
  

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in a fabrication shop or construction site, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and heavy machinery.

The position may require occasional overtime or weekend work, depending on project deadlines.
