Pay: Wage Scale C (Starting at $25.00-$27.00/hr)

Position Summary

The Closer/Pre-Closer/Funder/Post-closer is responsible for preparing closing documents in compliance with secondary market, investor, and credit union policies. Reviewing and signing off on closing conditions including communicating with Originators, Processors, Underwriters, Members and outside vendors during the entire process. May include occasional signing loan documents face to face with Members. Funding loans and reviewing, retaining and delivering post-closing final documents to appropriate investors and auditors. This position is considered a non-loan originator position.

Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities

  • Inputs, prepares, reviews and generates each loan closing package for required documentation and accuracy
  • Ensures loan package meets compliance guidelines and fixing discrepancies as necessary
  • Serves as liaison between FPCU and the loan officer and outside vendors.
  • Calculates funding amount for each loan package, balances figures with closing agent.
  • Serves a point of contact for all complex closing questions
  • Releases wire and funds loans
  • Completes work within established closing deadlines
  • Review and sign off closing conditions
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls, and should request legal interpretation as necessary. Must ensure subordinates are also compliant with such laws and regulations.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • At least an associate’s degree in business or similar related experience
  • 1-2 years of experience working in Mortgage Lending
  • This position requires an understanding of basic computer skills including m365 suites.

Skills And Abilities

  • Familiar with reading and interpreting investor guidelines, lender guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of mortgage closing documents, compliance documents, HMDA, TRID, RESPA, TILA disclosure requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to quickly connect with people in an outgoing, friendly manner
  • Ability to work independently
  • Previous experience within the mortgage industry closing loans and processing legal documents
  • Quick to learn any LOS system
  • Thorough understanding of Credit Union and Banking Regulations
  • Outstanding analytical skills and problem-solving ability
