- ABOUT THE POSITION:** Spokane Valley is seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic employee to serve our City as a regular, full-time Stormwater and Water Resources Engineer in the Public Works Department. The ideal candidate will have exceptional professional skills and a strong desire to provide superior service to both internal and external customers.
- SELECTED EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:** Provides engineering design, management, and review of engineering plans, reports, specifications, and estimates related to both municipal and private stormwater and water resources projects. Performs hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, modeling, and mapping using software such as SWMM, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS tools. Efforts are primarily focused on floodplain, floodway evaluations and reporting. Coordinates and manages consultants for the development of engineering plans, specifications, estimates, and technical reports. Coordinates the construction bid process, reviews bids and makes necessary recommendations based on lowest and best bids and competency of vendors/contractors. Oversees assigned projects to ensure consultant/contractor compliance with time and budget parameters. Assists in determining compliance with applicable stormwater and environmental requirements. Performs review of state and federal environmental regulations such as NPDES and UIC, best management practices (BMPs), or emerging trends in water resources.
