About the Role: The Merchant Services Risk & Fraud Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Risk and Fraud team in identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential fraud risks within merchant services operations. The Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of the team, ensure effective transaction monitoring, onboarding, and fraud prevention strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement risk management initiatives. This position requires a deep understanding of fraud trends, merchant services, KYC/AML regulations, and a proactive approach to fraud mitigation.

Your Impact:
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Supervise and mentor a team of risk and fraud analysts, ensuring performance metrics and KPIs are met.
- Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-ones, and performance reviews to provide feedback, guidance, and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative team environment to achieve business goals and improve operational efficiency.
- Fraud Detection and Prevention:
- Lead the team in reviewing merchant transactions, applications, and account activity to detect and prevent fraudulent behavior.
- Develop, implement, and improve fraud detection strategies, including transaction monitoring, risk analysis, and reporting.
- Oversee KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Analyze fraud patterns and trends, adjusting monitoring systems and processes to improve fraud prevention efforts.
- Onboarding and Risk Assessment:
- Oversee the risk assessment process during merchant onboarding to identify high-risk accounts.
- Collaborate with sales and compliance teams to ensure that merchant accounts meet internal risk management standards.
- Ensure that new merchants are assessed for compliance with relevant KYC/AML requirements.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain and update documentation on risk and fraud procedures and policies.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on fraud trends, team performance, and improvements in risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that reports are accurate, timely, and comply with internal and external regulations.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including compliance, sales, operations, and customer support, to address fraud-related issues and implement preventive measures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated fraud or risk issues.
- Training and Development:
- Develop training programs for new and existing staff on fraud detection techniques, risk mitigation strategies, and company policies.
- Ensure that the team stays up-to-date with the latest fraud trends, tools, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and work with management to implement solutions that enhance the fraud prevention process.
- Recommend and help implement new technologies and tools to support fraud detection efforts.
