JOB REQUIREMENTS: Essential Job Functions Responsible for planning,
organizing, scheduling, coordinating and implementing recreation
activities, classes, and events. Responsible for the recruiting,
training, supervising, scheduling and evaluating of part time, seasonal
staff and volunteers to operate and manage recreation division programs.
Provides program evaluations and reports through regular personal
observation, employee and participant feedback. Evaluates risk
management concerns related to all programming to ensure safe, clean and
attractive facilities for participants. Assists in preparation and
monitoring of budget specific to assigned program areas. All financial
reports to be current, accurate and consistently reliable maximizing
service cost recovery. Establishes and maintains a customer focused
approach for recreation programming. Displays innovative and creative
ideas and methods for the service delivery of recreation programs.
Facilitates meetings with other community leisure service providers to
address appropriate community recreation programming needs. Works with
all Parks, Recreation and Facilities Management Department
management/supervisory staff in a team environment. Responds to
questions, comments and complaints from participants and/or the public
regarding programs and activities. Develop short and long range program
plans based upon ongoing community needs assessments and program
evaluations. Maintains regular punctual and predictable attendance,
works overtime and extra hours as required. Other Job Functions
Responsible for securing and scheduling recreation facilities related to
assigned program areas. Maintains inventory, orders and distributes
recreation supplies and equipment needed for recreation/special event
program areas. Assists with the facilitation of promotion/marketing of
designed recreation programs/special event to increase public awareness
and participation. Assists with formal and informal staff/volunteer
recognition. Attends seminars, workshops and classes to enhance existing
skill, acquire new skills and share relevant information to related
staff. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a
bachelor\'s degree in Recreation Management or closely related field.
Minimum of three to five years of progressive responsible experience in
recreation programming or equivalent combination of experience and
training. Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to

Knowledge of recreation management principals and theory of municipal

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with
co-workers, associates, and the public, and handling difficult
situations in a tactful manner. Communicate effectively, verbally and in
writing. Preparing clear, sound accurate and informative reports
Coordinating the establishment and maintenance of appropriate records
and files. Computer applications and use of general office equipment.
Flexibility to schedule and supervise evening and weekend programs and
meetings. Knowledge of first aid and safety in application to recreation
activities. Possess and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver\'s license.
