What you will do:
As our Copywriter, you will be the lead steward of our brand voice, responsible for crafting consumer-facing copy that reflects our personality and uniqueness. A member of the Marketing Communications team, you will develop and edit content for a variety of projects and marketing channels including Shopper Marketing, CRM, and more. You will be responsible for ensuring copy is on-brand and on-tone. This role will work directly with our Marketing Manager, Communications & Strategy and partner with internal key stakeholders and the Brand Design team to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and articulate messaging. As our leading brand voice, this role requires a deep understanding of our brand and products.
Here’s a day in the life:
Work collaboratively with Marketing Manager, Communications & Strategy, designers, cross-functional teams and other Marketing partners to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop on-brand messaging.
Consistently enforcing and elevating the overall brand voice and tone for the brand while creating easy-to-understand narratives across all channels.
Develop and maintain the brand standard for all copy and ensure that it conforms to the brand tone of voice.
Think strategically to translate briefs and apply our communications strategy to marketing copy.
Interpret project/creative briefs and create marketing materials that are on strategy and adhere to all mandatories.
Work directly with the Marketing Manager, Communications & Strategy to effectively communicate Tillamook’s brand voice and tone consistently across a variety of consumer-facing channels aligning with brand strategy.
Partner with the Marketing Manager, Communications & Strategy, Creative Manager and Creative Director to develop seasonal marketing toolkits.
Proofread all copy for grammar and punctuation.
Lead copy creation for shopper marketing, email, web, app, product copy, and brand communication while crafting overarching stories, themes, and campaigns.
Conduct competitive research and stay up-to-date on food, social and cultural trends
Deep knowledge of our brand, products and claims.
Work under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Marketing degree or relevant field.
7+ years of professional copywriting experience, working in an agency/in-house.
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Deep understanding of digital experiences and how to write for each channel (Shopper Marketing, Social Media, Paid Media, website, email, and app).
Ability to work independently and manage timelines and establish priorities while maintaining flexibility to respond to changing demands.
Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; proven writing, editing, and proofreading.
Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times.
Experience in food and beverage or experiential brand preferred. Proven understanding of brand voice and adapting voice to different audiences.
Must be detail-oriented and have a strong sense of accountability and ownership over their work.
Must be able to work under minimal supervision and act as a problem solver, creative thinker, and self-starter.
Must maintain a sense of curiosity and foster a department culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability and to be successful.
