**Edgewater Technical Associates** is seeking qualified candidates for a **Nuclear Safety Document Review Support** opportunity in **Richland, WA** to support **DOE Hanford.**

  • Work Location:** Work shall be conducted at the Hanford Field Office and the Hanford Site in Richland, WA.

**SCOPE OF WORK**

The Department of Energy Hanford Field Office (HFO) requires general support services for the

for the Assistant Manager for Safety and Environment (AMSQ). Contractor shall provide

subject matter experts in DOE nuclear safety management to perform external independent

review of nuclear safety documents for Hanford Field Office nuclear facilities. The purpose of

the review is to provide expert oversight to ensure project nuclear safety documentation is

complete, accurate and reliable for supporting nuclear facility stabilization and demolition,

storage of nuclear fuels, and any other activities involving nuclear facilities at the Hanford

Site.

  • Review and evaluate relevant nuclear facilities safety documents and other materials provided prior to site visits and advise if additional information is required.
  • Provide review comments on nuclear facilities safety documents and support disposition of review comments.
  • Participate in pre-review conference calls.
  • Participate in on-site assessments.
  • Assist in preparation of draft reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of the safety documentation.
  • Provide recommendations to areas of the nuclear facilities that may need improvement.
  • Support the Safety Documentation Review Team Leader.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**

  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study.
  • Working level knowledge of the Hanford Site, processes, and procedures (preferred).
  • Working level knowledge of DOE's program management practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with Government waste streams.
  • Experience must provide sufficient understanding to allow contractor personnel to operate without substantial program oversight or direction.
  • Knowledge of radioactively irradiated fuel managed at the Hanford Sit preferred.
  • Knowledge and expertise in safety documentation reviews, evaluations and assessments.
  • Knowledge of DOE Project Management, radioactive waste management, and nuclear safety management.
  • Skilled at critical thinking, problem identification and resolution.
  • US Citizenship

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with education and experience and may range between $95,000-$175,000 annually.
