Position Overview

We are seeking motivated, results-driven Sales Representatives to join our team as independent contractors (1099) in California. This cradle-to-grave role offers a unique opportunity to manage the complete sales and operational cycle while leveraging both our brokerage capabilities and owned assets to provide optimal solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through strategic cold calling, targeted email campaigns, and networking
  • Quote Management: Collect and respond to RFQs from potential clients, coordinating with leadership to develop competitive pricing strategies
  • Carrier Selection & Load Management: Source and vet qualified carriers, negotiate rates, and broker loads while maintaining healthy profit margins
  • Asset Utilization: Strategically leverage company-owned assets for appropriate shipments to maximize efficiency and profitability
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and nurture long-term partnerships with clients, serving as their dedicated point of contact for all transportation needs
  • Sales Conversion: Collaborate with the sales team to convert quotes into booked loads and establish ongoing shipping arrangements
  • Operational Execution: Coordinate all aspects of shipment execution including documentation, tracking, and problem resolution
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor key performance metrics including margin retention, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscapes, and pricing fluctuations to identify new opportunities

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or transportation operations
  • Demonstrated track record of sales success and account management
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to maintain profitability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High energy with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems and Microsoft Office suite
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required for candidates with relevant experience
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently as a contractor
