Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role will work closely with ownership to manage accounts payable and general accounting functions with accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities include paying vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, bank reconciliations, report generation, and maintaining financial records. Additional duties may include handling mail, making bank deposits, and maintaining spreadsheets. This is an in-office position, with no remote work option. We offer medical, dental and vision benefits as well as 401k after 1 year of employment.

Qualifications
- Experience: Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience is required.
- Education: A 2-year degree or experience in Accounting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and computer literacy skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Process accounts payable, including subcontractor payments.
- Perform bank statement reconciliations.
- Manage general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate financial transactions in accounting databases.
- Conduct financial statement analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Assist as needed with other office functions.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues proactively.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand movements.
- Occasional standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including a calculator, copier, scanner, and telephone.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a moderate noise environment.
