Our team is growing, and we are hiring a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity for a Director of Accounting. Ideal candidate should be located in Palm Beach, Martin, or St. Lucie Counties, FL.
The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, corporate and lab accounting P&L reviews, year-end audit preparation, tax compliance, Oracle system administration, M&A integration activities and the support of budget and forecast activities. This role works cross functionally to achieve company business objectives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced, ever changing environment. The Director of Accounting will also be expected to make recommendations for process improvements and being able to communicate well orally and in writing with all levels of management.

Primary Responsibilities And Essential Functions Of The Position
- Supervise and provide leadership to employees performing corporate and lab accounting and tax duties.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end completion of the financial close processes.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements.
- Monitor financial activities and details such as reserve levels to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
- Support budget, forecasting and bank compliance activities.
- Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
- Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Responds to inquiries from the Controller, CFO and other finance and entity wide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
- Work with the Controller and other department heads to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
- Maintain and update Oracle financial systems and reporting requirements.
- Supervise the corporate accounting group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
- Oversee the management of fixed asset system.
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
- Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
- Support the Controller and other departments with special projects and workflow process improvements.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Individual must possess professional interpersonal skills including confidentiality, integrity and ethics, listening, conflict resolution, openness to change & progression, presentation skills and the ability to achieve results through working with other team colleagues.
- Individual must be competent in analytical use of data, work flows and procedures, problem solving, current technical accounting developments, training of colleagues and management of customer and vendor partner relationships.

- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA preferred.
- Five to ten years prior supervisory experience in the financial accounting/general ledger area.
- Manufacturing experience a plus.
- Previous experience with multiple reporting units and intercompany accounting required.
- Ability to work without supervision in a leadership role.
- Willingness to work cooperatively with others.
- Excellent organization, planning, problem solving and time management skills.
- Able to perform and manage multiple tasks and project under time constraints while maintaining accuracy.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and reporting of financial data.
- Experience with Oracle Financial Systems is preferred.

- Perform tasks at workstations-standing and sitting for extended periods of time. May be required to lift, push, pull, or move up to 25 pounds.
