Position Summary

The Director of Finance is a leader of leaders that directs the efforts of a total staff of 12 in leading, planning, and executing the accounting and finance functions of the company.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collects necessary information to prepare consolidated financial statements and other reports for multiple companies within the Schuber Mitchell umbrella
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external financial stakeholders including banks, insurance agencies, and external audit partners
  • Oversees annual ESOP governance and valuation activities
  • Monitors company cash flow and banking availability
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Provides guidance to other departments regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures
  • Provides leadership to the accounting department that is in alignment with company vision, mission, and values
  • Cultivates the personal, spiritual, financial, and professional growth of employees through open communication and weekly 1:1’s
  • Identifies training and development opportunities of the team
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations

Qualifications And Skills

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience performing accounting functions within a company or CPA environment
  • Superior skill and understanding of excel and accounting software required
  • BS or BA in accounting, finance, or business administration required. CPA preferred.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills required

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

  • Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with low noise levels
  • Prolonged periods of sitting required
  • Rarely required to walk, stand, lift, climb, pull, or push objects weighing up to 10 pounds
