Are you passionate about the communications field? Modern Woodmen of America is seeking a dynamic individual with exceptional communication, writing and implementation skills to join our Enterprise Marketing and Communications team. If you thrive on supporting an organization's mission and want to be part of a financial services organization that actively gives back to the community, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Modern Woodmen of America is one of the nation’s largest fraternal benefit societies, with assets over $18 billion. Fraternals are unique membership organizations with peculiar names that pair the “member-owned” characteristic of a mutual insurance company with the “social mission” characteristic of a service organization. They unite individuals with common bonds, provide a variety of life insurance and investment products, and form one of the nation’s most effective volunteer networks.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the production of Modern Woodmen’s magazine and e-newsletter for fraternal volunteer leaders.
- Collaborate with the Fraternal Department to plan content, conduct interviews, write and edit copy, and oversee publication design.
- Contribute to other Modern Woodmen publications by conducting the interviews and research necessary to write and edit articles.
- Write and edit copy for Modern Woodmen websites as assigned.
- Write and edit copy for member communications and other home office departments’ communication projects.
What we need:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, English or a related field required.
- Ability to write concise, creative, engaging copy in a wide variety of styles.
