This role involves ensuring the integrity and security of IT infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and providing technical support to end-users. The System Administrator will collaborate with the Senior Director of Technology to implement and maintain efficient and effective IT solutions to support organizational operations.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, telephone systems and software applications
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Perform regular backups and implement disaster recovery plans to protect data integrity
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems and applications
- Develop, plan, and execute staff training for new systems or programs
- Implement security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network issues.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet organizational needs and objectives to include planning and implementing system upgrades and enhancements
- Troubleshoot and repair network connections, hardware, and software issues for staff members, coordinating technical support for tech centers as needed.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and training purposes
- Work closely with vendors to procure products, negotiate prices, and obtain site licenses and support for projects.
- Develop, test, debug, and implement new computer programs based on specified requirements.
- Configure, install, and maintain surveillance camera systems in clubhouses and licensed childcare facilities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including network diagrams and drawings.
- Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for IT infrastructure.
- Keep an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets for the organization, ensuring up-to-date records.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain an elevated level of expertise in system administration
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred OR equivalent qualification in lieu of education, to include a minimum of two years’ experience in an IT environment, with an emphasis on network design, maintenance, and associated software applications
- Minimum two years proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role in an IT department
- Minimum two years proficient experience in administering Windows, Macintosh, and Linux/Unix operating systems to include software and hardware troubleshooting, support, and repair. Open-source solutions knowledge desired
- Minimum two years’ experience with computer networking – cabling, routing, switching, and firewalls
- Minimum two years’ experience with Microsoft 365 suite administration, Salesforce and Word Press is desired
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS (Domain Name System), DHCP, VPN)
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and on-prem and off-prem backup solutions is a plus
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+) are desirable
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of data file organization and documentation standards and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain productive work relationships with management and users is required
The role of System Administrator primarily involves sedentary work in an office environment.
