Job Summary
A Business Systems Analyst (BSA) evaluates and improves information systems within an organization by analyzing business needs, collaborating with stakeholders, and designing technology solutions that align with business objectives. BSAs act as a bridge between business needs and IT solutions, ensuring that technology implementations align with organizational goals. BSAs document system requirements, define scope and objectives, and create system specifications that drive system development and implementation. Incumbents function as a liaison between IT and users and have both business and technical expertise. BSAs contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Responsibilities
- Business Process Analysis: Analyzing existing business processes to identify areas for improvement and potential inefficiencies
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborating with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, including functional and non-functional needs
- System Design and Development: Designing and developing IT systems and software solutions that meet business requirements
- Implementation and Testing: Ensuring the successful implementation and testing of new or modified IT systems
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Addressing system issues and providing ongoing support and maintenance
- Data Analysis: Analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions
- Process Modeling: Using techniques like flowcharts and diagrams to visualize and document business processes
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitating communication and collaboration between business stakeholders and IT teams
- Project Management: Managing various phases of project lifecycles, from initial planning to post-implementation support
- Technical Writing: Creating documentation, including user manuals and technical specifications
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and/or 4 to 7 years of related experience
- 5+ years of business systems analysis and technical requirements definition
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, written and oral
- Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required
- Must be able to resolve problems independently or work with team members to drive solutions
- Must be a U.S Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret level clearance
- If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
- Must be able to meet deadlines and changing priorities
- Strong communication and verbal skills
- Familiarity with software development environments including Agile/Scrum SDLC
- Experienced in driving cross-functional meetings
