About The Role
Join a dedicated public organization serving the people of Texas! We are seeking an experienced and driven Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team in a hybrid capacity, working onsite at our Austin office two days per week and remotely for the remainder.
As a key member of our technology division, you will play a vital role in maintaining, designing, and optimizing our enterprise-level databases—supporting statewide services and initiatives that make a difference in the lives of Texans.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
- Perform data modeling, create and manage database objects, and maintain data integrity
- Develop scripts, stored procedures, and automation to streamline processes
- Provide support for database performance tuning, backups, and disaster recovery
- Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, and system administrators
- Ensure compliance with state data management and security standards
- Participate in data integration projects and support ETL processes
- 7+ years of experience in database administration, including Oracle and/or cloud-based RDBMS
- Strong experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Tableau, Informatica)
- Expertise in PL/SQL programming, performance tuning, and database scripting
- Experience implementing and maintaining logical and physical data models
- Ability to write source-to-target mapping to support ETL development
- Skilled in managing enterprise-level databases in a hybrid or cloud environment
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM integration and PERL scripting
- ETL development and data mapping experience
- Knowledge of Tableau dashboard development
- Certification in Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Informatica is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
- Public sector experience is a plus but not required
- Hybrid work model: 2 days/week onsite in Austin, TX
