SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position is for mid-level to senior support level engineers who may supervise others and have oversight to projects. Generally known as the experienced engineer or expert in the function listed below.
FUNCTIONS
Software Engineer
Design, specify, create, modify and maintain application software for SRS systems, evaluate and research new technologies that will enhance our product and profitability, prototype software to enhance system reliability and ease of use, maintain high level of technical competence and knowledge of competitive products, works closely with other engineers, designers and various functional areas of SRS, maintain a working knowledge of hardware development to assure the timely implementation of production test procedures.
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Create mechanical solutions for state of the art rail testing systems in the world, assure timely completion of design solutions to meet project schedules, see that parts are ordered, fabrications are made, tests conducted so as to insure the timely release of designs for release to manufacturing, actively contribute in work simplification and cost reduction, work with customers, designers, and technicians in developing product design solutions to meet SRS goals, work with vendors in meeting purchasing goals and staying within project budgets, design, evaluate and modify prototype product designs to meet schedules of production for SRS objectives, supervise technicians in the manufacturing of product designs, prepare and complete complex design layouts, details, installation drawings, parts lists and engineering change notices to SRS standards, verify final drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness, maintain departmental engineering and design related records, perform non-engineering related duties such as design drafting, attend daily vehicle production meeting, assist as needed to Production Manager with purchasing and inventory control, maintain vehicle bill of materials, keep track of Vehicles performance and downtime incidents and learn from mistakes, retrofit older vehicle to meet latest SRS quality of test standards.
Senior Software Engineer
Leads in the design, development and implementation of software solutions that meet the
goals of SRS, lead the development of display data visualization/applications for ultrasonic test equipment, establish requirements for display, data, communication and GUI functionality, design and develop visualization tools, prototype software to enhance system reliability and ease of use, track project plans and software schedules, participate in systems debugging and testing, initiate or participate in make/buy decisions for performance or cost improvements, develop and review supplemental user documentation and help system, work with customers in adapting SRS systems to their requirements.
Senior Systems Engineer
Assemble, test, maintain, upgrade and repair test systems used on Sperry vehicles. Manage and perform upgrades for 100 series vehicles B Scan and Vision, provide phone support to fleet for test equipment by troubleshooting repairs, commission new production and upgraded vehicles, improve designs of vehicle systems using Couplant and Vision, assemble and test systems, repair and test returned defective equipment, assist field maintenance in repairs.
