Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for profitability and performance of assigned areas.
- Provides the leadership needed to assure the understanding and use of constraint management in a connected process.
- Ensures a safe working environment in the department by holding supervisors accountable for compliance with all safety policies & procedures, prompt accident investigations, and corrections and closures of identified safety issues.
- Promotes continuous improvement in safety and environmental areas.
- Responsible for resolution of customer concerns.
- Develops annual business plan (including capital and expense spending, labor, scrap, and supply spending).
- Provides leadership for continuous improvement to the process and the employees.
- Contributes to establishment of policies and procedures.
- Plans and directs with the assistance of subordinate supervisors the manufacture of required quantity and quality of products necessary to fill customer orders.
- Develops and establishes adequate controls and procedures relative to production activities.
- Analyzes, evaluates, and integrates various controlling reports concerned with production quality and quantity and budget expenditures.
- Reviews major expenditure requests for tools, fixtures, etc.
- Makes recommendations for and requests purchase of capital expenditure equipment.
- Responsible for safety and good housekeeping in the manufacturing area.
- Keeps informed of current developments in production management techniques and incorporates developments applicable to plant activities.
- Administers personnel policies within the department.
- Selects, trains, and develops subordinates.
- 4-year college degree preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
- Five years of experience in Manufacturing/Manufacturing Management.
