The DuPage Senior Citizens Council/Kane Senior Council (DSCC/KSC) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer-driven organization committed to the well-being, socialization, and health of seniors. DSCC/KSC is the designated Meals on Wheels and Community Dining provider in DuPage and Kane County.

DSCC/KSC initiates, delivers, monitors, and coordinates services that promote the ability of older people to live their lives in dignity.

Summary

DSCC/KSC is looking for a Full-Time Social Media Specialist to create/implement a content schedule, create/post organic content, engage with social media followers, and share partner organizations’ content. Assist with updating organizational promotional tools, including brochures, flyers, and presentation materials. Take, edit, and organize photos and videos. Attend DSCC events to gather photos, videos, and content for all social media platforms. Follow branding policy and work collaboratively with the Communications Specialist.

An ideal Social Media Specialist would be self-motivated, highly organized, experienced using Canva to create graphics and promotional tools, have experience taking quality photos and videos, and be passionate about helping the older adult population

Social Media Specialist Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Create/implement DSCC’s social media content schedule
  • Create/post organic content based on the content schedule
  • Engage social media followers by starting conversations, responding to comments, answering messages, and sharing partner organizations’ content
  • Assist with updating organizational promotional tools, including brochures, flyers and presentation materials
  • Take, edit, and organize photos and videos
  • Attend DSCC events to gather photos, videos and content for all social media platforms

  • $45,760 - $49,920 ($22-$24) Hour Commensurate with experience

Qualifications

  • College Degree relevant to the position
  • Position requires a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
  • Must have an acceptable driving record

Skills/Experience Desired

  • Strong organizational, communication, research, project management, writing skills, PC pro?cient, and Microsoft software
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public at large
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Canva knowledge for creating graphics and promotional tools
  • Taking quality photos and videos
