System Engineer

The Springfield-Greene County Library District is a forward-thinking library system located in the heart of the Ozarks. Serving over 275,000 residents, the Library offers a wide range of resources, including books, movies, music, magazines, audiobooks, e-books, and downloadables. It features free meeting and study rooms, Wi-Fi, public computers, a Local History & Genealogy collection, and specialized centers like the Computer Training Center and the Funding and Business Information Center. The Library also provides outreach services, including a Mobile Library and Walking Books for the homebound.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a System Engineer located in Springfield, MO. The System Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems within the Library. Daily tasks will include troubleshooting technical issues, providing system administration and technical support, and working on systems design and optimization. The role requires close collaboration with other IT staff and departments to ensure efficient and effective technology services across the Library.

• System Administration experience
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in a library or educational setting is a plus
• Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
