RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Reads and interprets common engineering drawings, specification documentation and machinery manuals.
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and adjust electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Basic familiarity with the requirements of the NEC (National Electrical Codes) as they pertain to the facility.
- Performs all prescribed preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Perform basic calibration procedures on various pieces of equipment throughout the facility.
- Troubleshoot and correct electronic instrumentation problems with devices such as thermocouples, motor tachometers, temperatures controllers, and pressure transducers.
- Actively participates in company safety programs to include safety inspections, safety observations and JSA risk assessments as required.
- Repairs and troubleshoots machinery and equipment used in the production of padded polystyrene trays, to include thermoforming, padding, lamination, and extrusion equipment.
- Operates safely all related shop equipment.
- Operates forklifts and yard equipment
- Work must meet high standards of competent craftsmanship and professionalism in terms of quality, proficiency, efficiency, and material utilization.
- Conducts food safety and defense self-inspections and reports on deficiencies.
