KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER – Dental Supply

Key Responsibilities

Drive Sales Growth

  • Grow revenue within your assigned customer base through proactive outreach, including field visits, email communications, and timely follow-up on inbound inquiries.

Understand Customer Needs

  • Take a consultative approach to uncover customer pain points and provide tailored solutions using our best-in-class product portfolio.

Become a Trusted Expert

  • Commit to ongoing learning and development to serve as a product and industry expert to your customers.

Meet and Exceed Targets

  • Consistently exceed quarterly and annual gross profit goals, while hitting daily KPIs and contributing to territory-wide performance metrics.

Work Independently

  • Manage your territory autonomously, demonstrating self-motivation and strong time management in a largely independent setting.

Maximize Tools & Systems

  • Leverage ERP and HubSpot CRM systems to manage accounts, track engagement, and route opportunities efficiently.

Build Meaningful Relationships

  • Identify key decision-makers at each customer site and maintain strong, ongoing relationships through regular monthly contact and support.

Lead with Integrity

  • Conduct all interactions with professionalism and transparency, offering solutions that truly meet customer needs.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate demos, deepen product engagement, and support overall territory growth.

Focus on Core Accounts

  • Dedicate 90–95% of your time to existing customer development, with 5–10% reserved for strategic outreach to new potential accounts.

Requirements & Skills

Proven Sales Success

  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets, ideally in dental, medical, or other B2B industries.

Strong Communication

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; confident in delivering high-impact presentations and engaging discussions.

Resilience & Tenacity

  • Comfortable with managing rejection and maintaining high energy in a goal-driven sales environment.

Organizational Excellence

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage 35–50 daily customer touchpoints across a territory of 500–750 accounts.

Target Execution

  • Maintain at least a 70% contact rate with your key accounts per quarter and grow average order size by 5%+ compared to the prior year.

Territory Management

  • Strategically plan and execute territory activities to maximize engagement, sales conversion, and long-term growth.

Tech-Savvy

  • Proficient in using CRM (HubSpot) and ERP systems to uncover opportunities, log activities, and maintain up-to-date customer records.

Accurate Documentation

  • Maintain thorough call notes and contact data to ensure visibility across the organization.

Lifelong Learner

  • Participate in regular product training and collaborate with vendor reps to stay current on evolving offerings and technologies.

Team-Oriented

  • A true collaborator who works effectively with internal teams such as Customer Care, Product, Marketing, and vendor partners.

Education
