RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check patient eligibility and provider information.
  • Evaluate claims for coverage and medical necessity.
  • Review UB-92 and HCFA-1500 claim forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Enter claim data into the system following HMO procedures.
  • Apply correct billing and coding rules (ICD, CPT, HCPCS).


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years claims adjudication related experience.
  • Knowledge of payment methodologies for: Professional (MD), Hospital, Skilled Nursing Facilities, and Ancillary Services.
  • Experience in interpreting provider contract reimbursement terms.
  • Ability to identify non-contracted providers for Letter of Agreement consideration.
  • Data entry experience.
