Agilix Solutions currently has an opening for an Inventory Analyst in our Purchasing Department. As the Inventory Analyst, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and movement of surplus inventory, through various methods. This role is an exciting opportunity for you to showcase your talents in small initiative management, data analysis, and decision making, while addressing real business inventory obstacles.
This role will report to the Purchasing Manager.

This role will report to the Purchasing Manager.
Responsibilities
- Analyze inventory data to identify surplus and slow-moving items across all locations using tools such as SX.e, MITS, and Excel.
- Develop and execute surplus reduction strategies based on data trends, sales velocity, and stock levels.
- Coordinate return processes with vendors, ensuring compliance with return policies and optimizing return value.
- Generate surplus reports and dashboards to support decision-making and drive accountability at the branch level.
- Collaborate with purchasing, branch, and warehouse teams to assess transfer opportunities, prevent overstock, and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Initiate and manage Return Material Purchase Orders (RMPOs), ensuring timely and accurate execution of returns.
- Monitor and track return credits, reconcile issued credit memos, and address discrepancies or rejected returns.
- Maintain clean and accurate inventory data related to returned or unavailable stock, ensuring system integrity.
- Regularly review vendor return terms and propose improvements to return processes for increased efficiency and cost recovery.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing surplus inventory and enhancing return workflows.
- Associate’s degree in data and analytics, engineering, computer science, supply chain, or relatable field where data analysis and complex problem solving are relevant.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must, with a working knowledge of the remaining Microsoft Office Suite and other computer programs.
- Project Management and/or Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Capable of working independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 5-10 pounds at times.
