Firefly is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic accounting team. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage a diverse accounting skill set, encompassing full-cycle GL management, technical accounting, and financial reporting. This role will report to the Director of Accounting.
Responsibilities
General Ledger Management:

Responsibilities
General Ledger Management:
- Assist with overseeing and managing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- Establish, maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures.
- Research and apply relevant accounting standards to revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock-based compensation, and complex transactions.
- Document and implement new accounting pronouncements.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial reporting to management and stakeholders.
- Provide insightful variance analyses and financial commentary.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Support the external audit process.
- Assist with developing, maintaining, and improving internal controls over financial reporting.
- Support the company’s preparation for internal controls audit readiness.
- Collaborate with FP&A and non-finance business units to establish and improve processes, and ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment.
- Provide training and support to team members.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Support special projects as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
- Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience, with public accounting and/or public company experience.
- Proven track record of working with business-facing (i.e., non-finance) personnel to achieve successful outcomes.
- Familiarity with public company reporting, documentation and audit requirements.
- Proven experience performing technical accounting research and applying such concepts to complex transactions and fact patterns.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, and internal control over financial reporting.
- Strong leadership and time management, as well as personnel mentoring and development skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Public accounting (particularly Big 4 accounting firm) experience.
- Experience with manufacturing industry accounting.
- Masters degree in accounting or related business field.
