Position Overview

As VP of Product, you will be a hands-on leader responsible for translating Vantaca's strategic vision into a comprehensive product roadmap. We have a clearly defined company strategy, and you'll have the opportunity to craft the product strategic plan that brings this vision to life. This is a unique chance to align product direction with business goals while putting your stamp on our product evolution.

Your primary focus will be developing and implementing a product strategy that advances our market leadership, while providing practical mentorship to your team. You'll need to be both a strategic thinker and a skilled product mechanic who can roll up your sleeves, dive into the details, and ensure flawless execution across our product portfolio. Success in this role requires someone who can connect high-level strategy to tactical execution, bridge business needs with technical requirements, and transform customer feedback into actionable product improvements. We're looking for a leader who gets into the details, solves complex problems efficiently, and drives consistent, high-quality delivery that advances our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-on Product Execution

  • Implement the product vision through meticulous planning and execution
  • Get deeply involved in day-to-day product development and delivery
  • Resolve operational and product issues quickly and efficiently
  • Drive pace and urgency with practical approaches to product improvements
  • Maintain fast pace with low patience for delays or inefficiencies

Drive product strategy aligned with company vision

  • Speak up and push back when necessary to ensure product excellence
  • Make quick, decisive decisions to keep momentum
  • Inspire and demand excellence from your team
  • Foster a collaborative environment while maintaining highly direct communication
  • Demonstrate emotional control in high-pressure situations
  • Connect the dots between market opportunities, technical capabilities, and business goals
  • Design and measure experiments to validate product decisions
  • Develop deep understanding of customer pain points and translate these insights into product solutions that drive value

Technical Team Leadership

  • Provide detailed technical mentorship to the product team
  • Be the knowledge expert in the room, with confidence to share strong opinions
  • Challenge team members to grow through practical, hands-on learning
  • Connect downstream teams (QA, technical writing) to product workstreams
  • Continuously learn and stay curious about emerging technologies and methodologies
  • Support your team while driving them to achieve exceptional results

Business-Focused Product Management

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Dedicate 30-40% of your time to direct customer engagement, focusing on concrete pain points and practical solutions
  • Use customer insights to prioritize features that deliver immediate business value
  • Communicate product updates and roadmap progress to executive leadership
  • Develop and articulate strong opinions on the future of product management and software experiences

Process Excellence

  • Implement and optimize product development methodologies
  • Create efficient systems for tracking and resolving issues
  • Manage timing and priorities effectively with the team
  • Introduce process improvements at a manageable pace
  • Leverage modern PM and AI tools to enhance team productivity

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on product management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record as a product executor who delivers results consistently
  • Strong technical background with ability to mentor product managers on technical aspects
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams in an Agile environment
  • Demonstrated history of translating business requirements into technical specifications
  • Experience in a vertical industry, preferably a system of record, fintech or proptech
  • Deep understanding of product development methodologies and best practices
  • Experience with modern product management and AI tools
  • Experience with a system of record with complementary products to core software
  • Background with a company that changed how work gets done in an industry or drove meaningful disruption
  • Strong business acumen with focus on customer pain points and practical, revenue-generating product improvements
  • Experience with AI implementation in practical business applications
  • Natural curiosity and excellent listening skills to understand customer pain points
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
